La Casa Que Canta
Southern Mexico's coast is one of the Pacific's most beautiful. This is the home of the village of Zihuatanejo and nearby La Casa Que Canta which stands ingeniously sculpted on a cliff with a magnificent panoramic view of the bay. Built of native materials and decorated with fine hand-crafted Mexican furniture, the resort has an intimacy by virtue of its size that extends to its 24 ample suites, 11 of which have private pools. The charming staff, touching details like fresh flower tapestries on bedspreads and fine Mexican cuisine make a visit here a most fulfilling experience. Best remembered will be the infinity-edge pool, made famous by the film "When a Man Loves a Woman". Down by the ocean amongst the rocks, the resort has its own sea-water pool. A self-contained residence by the beach, El Murmullo, has four luxury suites with plunge pools, attended by its own staff, butler and chef! The Small Luxury Hotel of the Year in 2001.
