What is Cabo like?

Cabo (or “Los Cabos”) feels almost MEDITERRANEAN with its amazingly blue water & many white buildings & rock formations! Cabo has a really cool atmosphere, beautiful scenery & beaches, world-class sportfishing, world-class golf, sand-dune buggying, champagne sunset sails, & even awesome nightclubs & incredible restaurants in town. It offers a LOT! Another bonus: because Cabo relies on its water supply from rainwater & other sources (not inland sources) Cabo's water is safe to drink, no worries! Plus, with average daily temperatures of 80-85 degrees in May & June & over 350 days a year of full sun, Cabo is a thrill to discover!

Riu Santa Fe Resort & the town of Cabo San Lucas are both awesome. Riu is a highly respected chain of all-inclusive hotels in Latin America, many of which we have visited. This newest RIU is located in Cabo San Lucas on the tip of the Baja California peninsula at "Land's End". FYI, "Los Cabos" means several towns in that area with the name "Cabo" in it, the best of those being CABO SAN LUCAS! Cabo San Lucas is THE place to be for several reasons: first, the beaches in Cabo San Lucas are white sand beaches with brilliant blue water... second, it's the most scenic, with Cabo's famous El Arco (The Arch) being right across the bay from the Riu Santa Fe, so the view from our hotel is SPECTACULAR! Third, many FINE dining establishments as well as ALL the crazy nightlife (including WORLD FAMOUS nightclub's like Sammy Hagar's "CABO WABO" & "Squid Row", among others) are all in Cabo San Lucas, near our hotel! SO, bottom line is, the Riu Santa Fe Resort in Cabo San Lucas has the best beach, best views, best location, & near everything you want to see & do!

About the resort:

RIU SANTA FE RESORT is a 4-star ALL-INCLUSIVE resort (24 hr all inclusive for all you chowhounds!) located on a beautiful white-sand beach in the heart of Cabo San Lucas. Riu's lobby is accented with modern orb fountains & pools… resort has adobe “Santa Fe” style ARCHITECTURE surrounding sparkling POOLS (inlaid with Italian tile mosaics--gorgeous!) surrounded with palms & tropical plants. The resort itself feels like an adobe village in old Santa Fe, so it’s loaded with “atmosphere”! Pools have SWIM-UP BARS (a must for our group!) & JACUZZIS. Resort has 5 restaurants & 8 bars/lounges... we'll have the opportunity to choose from their variety of restaurants: Mexican, Italian, Asian, grill/steakhouse & American buffet… you’ll never go hungry! Resort has complimentary tennis, ping-pong, workout gym, sauna, beach & pool lounge chairs & thatched umbrellas for your recreation as well. PAYMENT INFO & POLICIES: Deposit is $300 per person by check or cash only, due at time of booking along with traveler's LEGAL FIRST & LAST NAME; final payment accepted by check, cash or major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover). Space that is not held by deposit (& final payment when due) is subject to cancellation with no refunds given. For credit card payments, we require a signed credit card authorization from the cardholder... please come by or call our office to request form, we can send it via fax. When mailing your check, please CALL US FIRST to make your reservation & then mail or drop by your check, made payable to TIKI TRIPS & mail to address at bottom; be sure to include all info listed above. Price is subject to availability & can change due to government tax hike or fuel hike until paid in full (though price change is unlikely & rare). Since this is a discounted group special, ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE; PAYMENTS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE & NON-CHANGEABLE (a change is considered a cancellation). Travel insurance of $49 per person (covering medical/emergency cancellations only) is recommended but not included, DUE AT TIME OF DEPOSIT ONLY. (Ask your agent for more info).

PAYMENTS & DEADLINES: Due to strict deadlines we must follow with our group department, it is a MUST to get your payment in on time. We are now charged late fees for late payments, therefore we must pass that cost onto anyone making a late payment. Please make sure to have your deposit IN OUR OFFICE by the dates listed above (deposit by Fri., Feb 29^th; final payment by Fri., April 4^th) or you will be assessed a late fee. Why do we require a deposit by check or cash? Because we have already put down a deposit for our travelers with our group department, so this is the only way we are reimbursed, by check or cash deposit from the traveler.

ROOMMATES: If you need a roommate, we can try & put you in touch with others who may be looking for a roommate, though for legal reasons we will not "assign" you a roommate. The person you choose to room with is strictly & only your decision. Names are really not "due" until final payment, so if you need time to find a friend to go, that's not a problem!

BE ADVISED: for travel to Mexico, you are now required to have a VALID U.S. PASSPORT with at least one blank page left in it & at least 6 months' validity left on your passport after your return date home... in other words, your passport must expire later than December 1, 2008. If your passport expires earlier than this, you must get a new passport before departure). NO birth certificates will be accepted... PASSPORT ONLY!! (For NON-U.S. citizens, please check with your country's consulate as to what is required for entry/exit to & from Mexico). Minors traveling may require additional documents; please call our office for further info.

Traveler is responsible for checking on the latest travel requirements & obtaining necessary documentation for their travel, as these requirements can change. Non-citizens of the U.S. must check with their country's consulate as to what is required for their travel.
