From the elegant architectural details of the buildings to the crystal of the chandeliers in the opera & royal palaces to the famed flower-filled Luxembourg Gardens to the tree-lined Parisian boulevards to the famous monuments, if it's beautiful places you want, Paris is IT. From the victories celebrated at the Arc de Triomphe at the top of the Champs-Elysees to the spires & gargoyles atop Notre-Dame cathedral to the onion domes of Sacre Coeur church atop Montmartre to the site of the French Revolution at the Place de la Bastille, if it's historical places you want, Paris is IT. From the casual boulangeries & patisseries to the coffee in street cafes to the wonderful wine in 5-star restaurants, if it's fabulous cuisine you want, Paris is IT. From the Renaissance masterpiece paintings like the Mona Lisa & statuary such as the Venus de Milo to the priceless works by Rembrandt to the Impressionist masters such as Monet, Gauguin, Renoir & Van Gogh, if it's art you love, Paris is IT. (The most famous museum in the world, the LOUVRE, isn't just a building... it's a PALACE full of magnificence! It could be empty & still be worth seeing!). From all beautiful things that sparkle & shine such as the haute couture of Christian Dior & Louis Vuitton & the perfumeries along the Champs-Elysees to the exquisite little shops in the St-Germain-des-Pres district, if it's beautiful things you want, Paris is IT. In fact, Paris' most iconic symbol, the Eiffel Tower, sparkles like diamonds from dusk 'til dawn! (It really does!). It was apparent a long time ago... the French invented elegance, & it shows... EVERYWHERE. Especially in PARIS.

Paris is, simply, magical. The people are lovely (do not believe anything to the contrary!), the cuisine/wine/cheese/pastries are out-of-this-world-amazing, so are the fashions, architecture, churches, shopping, sightseeing, AND let’s not forget the ART! The Louvre, the Orsay, the Orangerie, Rodin, Picasso, many world-famous museums are here for the enjoying…also, fairly close in proximity & worth a day tour: the Palace at Versailles/gardens/Trianon (Marie Antoinette's little estate is here), Normandy & World War II D-Day beaches, many castles ("chateaux") & palaces can be found outside Paris & into the Loire Valley (Chantilly, Chambord, Chenonceau, Fontainebleau, Maisons-Laffitte, Rambouillet, Vincennes, etc. are just a few). Even DISNEY built a castle here at Disneyland Paris, & the park is just a little more magical as well as different! The area has something for everyone. Winter, spring, summer or fall, Paris & France are ALWAYS an absolute joy J

BONUS: We are going the week they start the Christmas festival in Paris on the Champs-Elysees... it was our FAVORITE thing we did when we've gone on previous trips in 2006, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016! Lights, music, roasting chestnuts, delicious delights, sparkling everything... it seemed everything was sprinkled with a little magic pixie dust... LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this festival, can hardly wait to go again!
